In situ post 01.February.10

Here I am dear readers, enjoying an evening at San Pedro, the sun went down and I saw the sunset from the dunes of Beter, the farthest ayllu from the village, between the tops of some trees that have been buried under the sannd for hundreds of years, devoured by the dunes.

There are ancient walls of the people who once lived here. Pieces of pottery found in the soil as a vestige of looters of those treasures of the past, a fascinating tour with a resident of the sector that showed me his most precious places.
The clouds were moving from the mountains to the town as the day passed, they covered the horizon and the sun disappeared between those generating a myriad of colors that exist thanks to the nonexistent humidity that make these more crisp and light as unique and special as a picture taken out of a dream journal.
I decided last week to come and spend a vacation at this place, the reason: my birthday, a decision overnight, and certainly my best gift, to enjoy this deep contact with nature. In three days I have experienced a myriad of sensations, traveling to  places, all completely different, with the most fabulous geographies from the rocky hills of the colorful Rainbow Valley, the petroglyphs of Yerba Buena and the town of Rio Grande, to the vastness of the salar seen from inside the Cejar lagoon. Is very true that to know this place well takes years, many routes to discover in many streams where I imagine sums of atacameño sheperds, Incas and travelers from other parts of the Central Andes have passed, showing that for them Range was not a hindrance but the bond that united all the inhabitants of southern Peru, Bolivia, northern Chile and Argentina.
In today´s post, this blogger  only aims to share her weekend with you, my readers, recounting a minimum sense of the unlimited that this place offers and the gifts it has for every soul who wants them.
